ECE Infant Toddler certified staff, low ratios, and a nurturing environment for the youngest members of our Love Kids family.
Leaving your baby for the first time is genuinely hard. There's no way around that. What we can tell you is this: we've been caring for infants in Coquitlam for over 16 years, and we treat every baby like they're the most important one in the room. Because to their mom, they are.
When moms call us about infant daycare near Coquitlam, they don't ask about lesson plans. They ask: Will my baby be held when they cry? Will I know what's happening while I'm at work? Is my baby actually safe? The answer to all three is yes, without hesitation.
At Love Kids, your baby isn't just looked after. They're known. We learn their cues, their sleep patterns, what makes them happy, and what upsets them. Your caregiver will know your baby's personality within the first week. And when you call to check in, we pick up.
Our infant care program in Coquitlam is built around small groups, consistent caregivers, and a calm, unhurried pace. Those things aren't extras. They're what makes this work for babies and for moms.
Not every ECE credential is the same. A general ECE diploma covers child development broadly, which is a great start. But the Infant Toddler specialization is extra training, focused specifically on babies and children under three. It covers things like how infant brains develop, safe sleep practices under BC regulations, responsive feeding, and how to build secure attachment with a baby who can't tell you what they need.
This matters more than most parents realize. The first 18 months of life shape how a baby's brain is wired for trust, language, and learning. A caregiver with Infant Toddler certification understands that. It's not background knowledge to them. It's what they think about every single day.
At Love Kids, our infant room caregivers hold this certification. And when your baby is ready to move up, they'll transition into our toddler care program with the same warm, familiar faces supporting them.
Every baby is different, and we follow your baby's individual cues. We don't force a rigid schedule on a 4-month-old. But here's a general idea of how the day flows in our infant room:
| Time | Activity | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| 7:00 am | Arrival & Settling | Slow, unhurried transition with your caregiver. We take a moment with you each morning. |
| 7:30 am | First Feeding | Feeding log updated in real time, breast milk, formula, or solids as appropriate for your baby's stage. |
| 8:15 am | Tummy Time & Sensory Play | Age-appropriate exploration on the floor with safe, stimulating textures and objects. |
| 9:15 am | Morning Nap | Safe sleep practices followed consistently. Individual sleep logs maintained. |
| 10:30 am | Wake & Diaper Change | Diaper changes logged throughout the day. Skin checks included. |
| 11:00 am | Caregiver Talk Time | One-on-one language interaction: singing, reading, narrating the world. Foundational for speech development. |
| 12:00 pm | Lunch Feeding | Feeding schedule follows your baby's home routine as closely as possible. |
| 1:00 pm | Afternoon Nap | Quiet, consistent sleep environment. Room temperature and lighting managed carefully. |
| 3:00 pm | Afternoon Play & Fresh Air | Weather-appropriate outdoor time for fresh air and gentle stimulation. |
| 4:30 – 6:00 pm | Pickup | Caregiver shares a verbal summary of the day. Full daily log available for review. |
One of the hardest parts of leaving a baby in care is not knowing what's happening. We get that. So we make sure you always know.
We keep a daily log for every infant. It tracks feedings, diaper changes, sleep times, and anything notable during the day. At pickup, your caregiver walks you through it. You'll know exactly how your baby's day went, every single day.
If something comes up during the day, like a fever, a fall, or your baby just won't settle, we call you. We don't wait until pickup. You're always in the loop, because that's what we'd want if it were our baby.
Babies change fast. Our caregivers are trained to notice what each baby is working on and gently support that growth, without rushing or pushing. Here's what we focus on:
Consistent, responsive caregiving builds the trust your baby needs to explore the world safely.
Talking, singing, and reading with intention from day one, long before your baby says their first word.
Safe textures, sounds, and visual contrasts that invite curiosity and help wire the developing brain.
Tummy time, reaching, rolling, and eventually pulling up, supported at every stage.
We work with your baby's natural rhythms and support healthy sleep hygiene in a calm environment.
Even tiny babies notice faces, voices, and feelings. We nurture that awareness from the start.
We welcome infants from 3 months old. That timing tends to work well for babies, who have a bit more physical stability by then, and for families, who've had some time to settle in at home. If you're not sure whether your baby's age or situation fits, just call us. We're happy to talk it through.
We keep ratios low in our infant room, in line with BC Child Care Licensing requirements and our own standard for good care. Low ratios aren't a checkbox for us. They're what makes it possible for a caregiver to actually respond to each baby individually, instead of just keeping everyone managed. Your baby gets real attention, not just supervision.
Yes, and we think it really matters. Babies settle faster and stress less when daycare feels similar to home. When you enroll, we spend time learning your baby's feeding schedule, sleep cues, comfort preferences, and all the little things that make them who they are. We ask a lot of questions, and we genuinely want the answers.
Absolutely. We handle expressed breast milk carefully, with proper labelling, storage, and handling. We know how much work pumping takes, and we treat your milk with that same care. Formula is completely fine too. We don't make feeding choices a thing here. Fed and loved is what counts.
We follow BC Child Care Licensing guidelines for when a baby needs to stay home, and we take them seriously. If your baby shows signs of illness during the day, we call you right away. We know sick-day logistics are one of the hardest parts of having a baby in care. We try to reach you early so you have time to make a plan, not just 10 minutes before pickup.
Yes. Our infant room caregivers hold the ECE Infant Toddler certification, which is a specialized credential on top of the general ECE diploma. For us this is a requirement, not a bonus. The youngest children in our care deserve caregivers who trained specifically for this age group, not generalists who were just assigned to the infant room.
We take transitions slowly. The first week usually involves shorter days, sometimes with a parent staying for part of it, and we build up gradually from there. There's no set schedule for this. We follow your baby's lead. Some babies settle in quickly. Others need more time, and that's completely okay. We'll be upfront with you about how it's going, and we'll work through it together.
We care for infants from 3 months old and welcome families from across the Tri-Cities. Many of our youngest families come from neighbourhoods close to the Coquitlam River and Colony Farm.
We've earned the trust of Coquitlam families for over 16 years. We'd be honoured to earn yours.
