Daycare Coquitlam

If you live in Coquitlam and you are searching for daycare, you already know the challenge. You need a place that opens early enough for the West Coast Express. You need someone you can actually trust with your kids. And you need to know your child is learning something, not just sitting in a room watching a screen all day.

We hear that from PoCo parents all the time. That is exactly why so many families from Coquitlam bring their kids to Love Kids Daycare Coquitlam. We are right on the Coquitlam side of the border, just a short drive from Prairie Avenue or Shaughnessy Street. For most PoCo families, we are under 10 minutes away. And we have been doing this for over 16 years, so we know what local families need.

Coquitlam is a real community. About 67,000 people call PoCo home. It has everything a family needs: good schools, the Traboulay PoCo Trail wrapping the whole city, parks like Gates Park and Lions Park, and that tight-knit neighbourhood feel that makes it a great place to raise kids. But when both parents work, or you are a single parent catching the early train into Vancouver, you need childcare that actually works with your life.

Love Kids Daycare Coquitlam is licensed by the Province of BC under the Child Care Licensing Regulation. Every single staff member holds an ECE (Early Childhood Education) diploma. We have been serving the Coquitlam and Coquitlam area for over 16 years. We accept the BC Childcare Subsidy.

How Far Are We from Coquitlam?

Our address is 3007 Pasture Circle, Coquitlam, BC. We sit right near the Coquitlam and Coquitlam border, which means PoCo families do not have far to go at all.

Here is a rough idea of drive times from different parts of PoCo, based on typical morning traffic:

  • From downtown Coquitlam (near Shaughnessy and Lougheed): about 8 to 10 minutes, heading west on Lougheed Highway and cutting through into Coquitlam.
  • From Coquitlam Station (West Coast Express): about 8 minutes by car. Many families drop off the kids with us, then drive back to the station for their commute.
  • From Mary Hill (south PoCo): about 8 to 12 minutes via Prairie Avenue heading northwest into Coquitlam.
  • From Oxford Heights or Citadel Heights (north PoCo): about 10 to 14 minutes, depending on which route you take into Coquitlam.
  • From Lincoln Park: roughly 10 minutes heading west toward Coquitlam.

None of these trips require the highway. Most parents find a simple route that fits right into their morning drive without adding much time at all.

Why PoCo Parents Choose Us

There are a lot of daycare options out there, and we know you have choices. Here is what PoCo families tell us made the difference for them.

  • We open at 7:00 am. If you are catching the West Coast Express or an early bus on Route 159, 160, or 173, you need a daycare that is actually open. We are ready at 7:00 am, Monday through Friday.
  • Every teacher has an ECE diploma. Not just a certificate, not just "experience." Every staff member has completed a formal Early Childhood Education program. This matters for how your child learns and how safe they are.
  • Low child-to-staff ratios. Your child is not just one of 20 kids in a crowded room. We keep our ratios low so every child gets real attention.
  • Daily updates to parents. You will know how your child's day went. What they ate, how they napped, what they played, what they learned. You are never left guessing.
  • 16 years in this community. We are not a new operation. We have been part of this neighbourhood since before many of our current families even moved here.
  • BC Childcare Subsidy accepted. If you qualify for the provincial subsidy, we accept it. This helps a lot of PoCo families make quality childcare affordable.
  • Licensed by BC. We operate under the Child Care Licensing Regulation. This means regular inspections and real accountability, not just a business license.
  • Bilingual and multicultural families are welcome. PoCo is wonderfully diverse, with English, Cantonese, Mandarin, Persian, Korean, and many other languages spoken at home. Our team understands that transition to childcare can feel different when English is not the first language at home. We make every family feel comfortable.

Day Care Center

We offer a full range of licensed childcare programs to match your child's age and your family's schedule. Here is a quick overview.

Infant Care is for your youngest babies. We know handing off your infant to anyone is not easy. Our infant program has small group sizes and patient, qualified caregivers who treat your baby like family.

Toddler Care covers the busy, curious stage when kids are into everything. Our toddler program channels that energy into play-based learning that builds language, motor skills, and confidence.

Preschool is a great step before kindergarten. We help kids build the social skills, listening skills, and early literacy they need to walk into School District 43's classrooms ready to go.

Full-Day Daycare covers your full workday, from our 7:00 am open right through to 6:00 pm. This is the program most PoCo commuter families use.

Family Daycare is a smaller, home-like setting for families who prefer a quieter environment for their child.

Educational Services supports children who need a bit more structure or enrichment in their learning. Ask us about this program when you call.

Questions Coquitlam Moms Ask Us

Are you open early enough for families catching the West Coast Express?

Yes. We open at 7:00 am Monday to Friday. The West Coast Express out of Coquitlam Station runs early morning trains into Vancouver, and many of our PoCo families drop off their kids with us first. Our 7:00 am opening was set with commuting families in mind. You will not be rushed or scrambling in the morning.

How far is it from Coquitlam Station?

About 8 minutes by car in normal morning traffic. Coquitlam Station is on Shaughnessy Street, and from there you head west and cross into Coquitlam. It is a simple drive with no tricky turns. A lot of our families do exactly this route every single morning.

What ages do you accept?

We care for children from infants through preschool age. Whether your baby is just a few months old or your little one is getting ready for kindergarten, we have a program that fits. Call us at 604-338-8020 to talk about your child's specific age and what is available right now.

Do you accept the BC Childcare Subsidy?

Yes, we do. The BC Childcare Subsidy can reduce what you pay out of pocket significantly, depending on your family income. We work with the subsidy program directly. If you are not sure whether your family qualifies, the Province of BC has an online checker, or you can ask us and we will point you in the right direction.

Do you have spots available right now?

Availability changes regularly. The best thing to do is call us at 604-338-8020 to find out what is open for your child's age group. We always recommend calling sooner rather than later, because quality licensed spots in this area do fill up, especially for infants and toddlers.

Are your staff actually qualified, or just supervised adults?

Every staff member at Love Kids Daycare Coquitlam holds an ECE (Early Childhood Education) diploma. That is not a weekend certification. It is a full post-secondary program. This matters because properly trained caregivers understand child development, know how to handle challenging behaviour, and create real learning environments, not just supervised playtime.

Is your daycare licensed by BC?

Yes. We are licensed under the Child Care Licensing Regulation by the Province of British Columbia. This means we meet the provincial standards for safety, staff qualifications, space, and programming. We are subject to regular inspections. You can trust that what we say matches what you will see when you come in for a tour.

How do I know what is happening with my child during the day?

We give parents daily updates. You will hear about what your child ate, how they slept, what activities they did, and anything important that happened. We do not believe in leaving parents in the dark. Most of our families tell us the daily reports are one of their favourite things about being with us. You will never drop off your child and wonder all day how they are doing.
